FRIENDLY PIECES OF ADVICE

If you want to have friends, you need to be social. Join some clubs and never be shy to speak up first. However, do not be a chatterbox either. Remember: a good friend always keeps the balance between talking and listening.

It is important to keep in touch with each other regularly if you want your friendship to grow. In the past, people sent letters to one another. Today, social networks are the most popular and fastest way to stay connected. However, virtual communication can never replace live communication. Do not only make calls and send messages – see one another to hang out. That way you will become closer.

Besides that, you need to be loyal so that others can trust you. Support your friends and let them do the same for you – a friend in need is a friend indeed.

Everyone is different and you need to realise that. In other words, be understanding and not selfish. Share some hobbies and interests with your friends. On the other hand, do not be scared to try out something new in your life. Develop yourself and you will be interesting to talk to and spend time with.

Hey! How are you? Do you have any plans for this weekend?
I’d like to invite you to a picnic this Saturday in the park at 2 pm. My friends
Ned and Sue will be there, and I’d like you to meet them. Are you free on Sunday
as well? I’m having a party at home at 6 pm. Would you like to come?
There will be some music, dancing and lots of tasty food, too!

STAY CONNECTED

Many of us today chat and talk online. Besides calls and messages, we also send each other files, photos and videos. This way of communication is virtual. Social networks are a good way to keep in touch with everyone, but they can never bring us as close as live communication can. When we meet face to face, we see each other in more detail and feel their energy. We can also do different activities together – play games, do sport, cook, walk… This way we get closer and become friends.

A lot of people are often busy, so they mostly connect online. However, after some time, that connection gets lost somewhere because chats and calls cannot transfer feelings very well.

On the other hand, if you do not use any means of virtual communication at all, you can easily lose contact with others.

What should we do, then? The answer is simple: keep the balance between live and virtual ways of communication. In other words, chat and call each other online during the week, but at the same time meet face to face once or twice a week. This way you will not only remember each other but also stay close.
